ON UNDERSTANDING SPEECH IN KYRGYZ LINGUISTICS

Abstract

The subject of this study is four different approaches regarding the concept of “speech”. His goal is to prove that the Russian dichotomy “language - speech” corresponds to the opposition “til - kep” in the Kyrgyz language. To achieve the goal, comparison and contrast methods were used. The study demonstrates that this term makes it possible to summarize and comprehensively define the essence and distinctive properties of speech and contrast them with the totality of language features. During the study, types of speech activity in the Kyrgyz language were studied, analyzed, and described, taking into account the achievements of Russian linguistics. The position is proposed and substantiated that the term kep “speech” by Kyrgyz linguists is attractive in many respects. The results obtained can be used in teaching and studying courses in psycholinguistics and theory of speech activity at philological departments of universities.
