Abstract

The subject of the study is the creation of conditions for the development of spatial thinking of students in the formation of a geometric concept with the introduction of a different kind of its definition by a combination of two methods (abstract-deductive and concrete-inductive). A homogeneous definition of a concept narrows the stock of ideas about it, makes them weak in revealing the connections between a concept and another concept. The purpose of the study is that the stock of representations created in relation to the same concept allows you to define other concepts, based on this concept, to represent certain concepts, to successfully perform operations on them (to develop understanding). In this work, the following research methods are used: observation, analysis, synthesis and experiment. The results of this work show the creation of conditions for the development of spatial thinking of students in the formation of a concept with different definitions. The results obtained can be applied in the learning process.
