Abstract

In this article, the current state of the use of case technologies in general education is considered as the subject of research. The study was conducted in order to determine the level of formation of students' competencies and expected learning outcomes specified in state educational standards through the use of case technologies in teaching mathematics. Scientific methods of observation, analysis, synthesis, induction, comparison and generalization were used in the research work. The results obtained will contribute to improving the process of teaching the subject of mathematics in secondary school, the successful implementation of the principles of mathematical education, such as strengthening the applied and practical orientation of teaching, purposeful formation of vital skills. The difference between case tasks and classical tasks, the goals of case tasks, the skills and abilities that students acquire when performing cases were demonstrated. Examples of cases in teaching mathematics in secondary school are given, the main and subject competencies formed at each stage of working with the case, and the expected results of teaching in “mathematics” are determined. The materials of this study are recommended for use in lessons for secondary school math teachers.
