Abstract

In this work, the subject of research is the process of formation of students’ spatial thinking when introducing geometric concepts using concrete-inductive and abstract-deductive methods. Research has been carried out to determine the advantages of one of the methods: concrete-inductive and abstract-deductive in the formation of the mentioned thinking in the process of introducing geometric concepts. The development of spatial thinking is necessary for an excellent student’s studies and for him to become an excellent specialist in various professions in the future. In this work, the following research methods were used: pedagogical observation, comparison, experiment. It was revealed that the concrete-inductive method of introducing geometric concepts, presented in the form of a drawing, has a comparative advantage in the formation of thinking over images. The results obtained can be applied in the process of teaching geometry in the formation of spatial thinking of future teachers of mathematics.
