Abstract

The research subject of the work is the establishment of figurative and symbolic (semiotic) signs of the concept of "woman" in Kyrgyz and British cultures. The purpose of the study is to identify the figurative and symbolic signs that are the research components of the concept of "Woman" and find their compatibility in the Kyrgyz and English languages. There is no doubt that every nation has national values that belong only to women and are unique to their age characteristics. Those values are glorified through the images of women in the epic works of the Kyrgyz people, and their positive and negative qualities characteristic of the stereotyped image of women in British culture, such as courage, decency, intelligence, kindness, strength, dexterity, and courage, are studied at work. It is clear that the concept is a layer or part containing associations, emotions, evaluations, national images characteristic of a certain culture. The fact that the concept of "woman" in Kyrgyz and English languages is not defined together with figurative and symbolic or semiotic signs indicates the relevance of this work.
