Abstract

Our results showed that in order to obtain complete information about hypoxic metabolism, the animal should be subjected to prolonged hypoxia. At the same time, two phases of hypoxic metabolism are manifested:a) a compensatory phase, when the lack of oxygen is supplemented by an increase in the respiratory rate; b) an uncompensatory phase, when due to lack of oxygen, the respiratory rate decreases due to a decrease in the intensity of metabolism and the working capacity of the respiratory muscles. The use of a number of hypometabolics, in particular katacin and benzonal, can significantly increase the life expectancy of rats in conditions of oxygen deficiency.
