Abstract

The relevance of the article is to correct the definition of the concept of "adjacent angles", given in a school textbook on geometry, here the sign" have a common beginning " is superfluous, and not an essential feature of this concept. It can also be noted that at each stage of the formation of concepts, attention is not paid to the development of spatial thinking of the student. The purpose of the work is to suggest the ways that determine the development of spatial thinking of students by the example of the formation of the concept of “adjacent angles". In this work, the following research methods are used: observation, comparison, experiment. The results of this work are: compilation of questions and exercises aimed at” recoding " information. The results obtained can be applied in the process of learning geometry. Conclusions: it is noted that the teacher should focus not on the empty memorization of the wording of the definition of the concept, but on the independent compilation (in all possible cases) by the student.
