Abstract

The translation of the concept of "woman" in British linguistics on the example of the novel "Jenny Gerhardt" by T. Dreiser is the subject of research. The purpose of the study is to analyze the ways and methods of translating linguistic means expressing the concept of "woman" when translating literary works from English into Kyrgyz. For the purpose of a comprehensive study, this article examines the influence of extralinguistic factors on linguistic means in translation. An example of which is the material taken from the Kyrgyz translation of the novel by the famous American classic T. Dreiser "Jenny Gerhardt". The translation analysis given on the examples of such works of art is the first step towards the theory and practice of Kyrgyz translation and determines the relevance of this work. As a result of the research, an analysis of the use of transformations in translation, their general characteristics, as well as ways and methods of translating the means of expressing the female concept is made.
