Abstract

The object of the study is a manual impact mechanism of variable structure (MPS) designed for the destruction of solid materials, used in the mining, and construction industries and for the production of repair and restoration and road works. In this paper, the process of studying the rebound of a striker of a variable structure impact mechanism with dynamic coupling after energy transfer to the instrument is considered. The impact mechanism consists of a rotating rotor (crank) and two connecting rods (strikers) in the form of rods, at the end of which the impact mass is concentrated. The purpose of the work is to ensure the stability of the mechanism, i.e. to ensure that the impact mass reaches the point of impact with the tool in one cycle. Analytical equations describing the change in the angular velocity and angle of rotation of the striker at the moment of impact and after impact of the striker with the tool were derived. These equations take into account two different approaches:  the moment of momentum forces are taken into account, which affects the nature of the movement of the striker, and the speed recovery coefficient is taken into account, which makes it possible to simplify the solution of the problem.
