Abstract

The subject of research of the presented work is the heat and mass transfer processes occurring in the volume of products during their drying in the “Thermika” solar drying plant, in the design of which infrared radiation is provided to increase the efficiency of its operation. Computational and theoretical studies were carried out to determine the occurrence and direction of the effect of the temperature field on the dried product during their infrared heating in a solar drying unit. The research uses the method of mathematical modeling of heat exchange processes. It has been established that when the product is heated from different sides during infrared heat treatment, the so-called superposition principle occurs, that is, the total heat flow acting on the dried product is enhanced. The results obtained allow us to conclude that infrared radiation accelerates the drying process of products. It is recommended to include infrared radiation elements in the design when developing new types of solar drying plants.
