Abstract

The subject of this study is the process of origin of the Kyrgyz words land/place/house… on the basis of the ancient Chinese zher/land and its transformation zhai/zhe/zhai/zai. An etymological analysis of the words «zher, zhai/land, place» in the Kyrgyz language was carried out to determine the etymological relationship between the Chinese and Kyrgyz nominees. To determine the origin of the words land/place,a comparative method was used based on etymological analysis. Comparing the semantics of words in the Kyrgyz word is associated with the Chinese syllable, which has a narrow and specific meaning only in the semantics of its semantic paradigm, since it has a polysemantic character. In the compared languages, the idea of preserving the original basis zher/earth was revealed. Under the influence of compression and the law of the open syllable, the Chinese word zher is transformed intj polysemantic open syllables zhai/zhe/zhai/zai. It is proved that their semantic structure is practically similar to the content of the words zher,zhai/land, place in the Kyrgyz language. The comparative method used in the article is recommended for determining the origin of words.
