THE CONCEPT KUT IN THE KYRGYZ MENTAL-LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF THE WORLD

Abstract

The concept kut, which is an element of the Kyrgyz mental-linguistic picture of the world, was chosen as the subject of research. The article aims to analyze the semantics, linguistic properties, content types and layers of this concept as an integral unity. It uses methods of comparison, description, analysis and generalization. In the process of research, some new scientific results were obtained. Primary and derivative, real and irreal, direct and figurative, denotative and connotative, neutral and expressive meanings of the lexeme kut, which together form an important component of the Kyrgyz ethnic mentality, are determined. The predominant role of the sacral-mythical seme in this system of meanings is shown. The cognitive-semantic content of the concept is considered in the context of Turkic studies. These provisions are necessary for theolinguistics, linguocognitology, etymology and lexicography. Relevant facts can be useful for teaching the Kyrgyz language to a foreign language audience. This study opens up an opportunity for a broad and comprehensive description of the Kyrgyz cognitive-linguistic picture of the world.
