Abstract

In this paper, the subject of research is the design of manual ramming machines. The purpose of the study is to analyze the designs of manual ramming machines. Methods of analysis of constructive and kinematic schemes of manual ramming machines are used. As a result of the conducted research, the advantages, disadvantages and the area of rational use of existing manual tamping machines have been identified. It is revealed that pneumatic and compression – vacuum ramming machines are characterized by their non-mobility, which leads to rapid fatigue of operators. Explosive rammers have a high impact power with the same weight of the machines, but the presence of a significant load on the operator when holding the rammer of explosive action leads to its rapid fatigue. It is determined that the use of a spring in some ramming structures as elasticity for self-movement and reduction of dynamic loads in the supports of the impact unit adversely affects the reliability of the machine, especially when working with a significant impact velocity. Based on the analysis of the designs of ramming machines, a new design of a manual ramming machine based on a variable structure mechanism with a belt drive is proposed. The tasks of further research on the development of a mathematical model and the creation of a new design of a manual ramming machine of domestic production based on a variable structure mechanism with a belt drive are formulated.
